Ekta
Parishad is an alliance of rural grassroots organizations working for
the rights of poor in India. Ekta Parishad is essentially premised on
the understanding that constitutional and human ‘rights’ can
only be realised through organized struggle.
Spread across 8 states of India, Ekta Parishad works to mobilize the dis-empowered
for exercising their due ‘rights’ of access to land water
and forests through non-violent struggle and do socially useful action.
Grassroots mobilization and organization, alliance building, lobbying
and advocacy form the major strategies – which are put into action
via Padyatras, rallies, public hearings, public interest litigation, documentation,
