“In Mexico, FDH supports farmers organized within the Farmers’ Democratic Front, in the production and commercialization of their products.”

FDC :
In Mexico, Frères des Hommes supports the Farmers’ Democratic Front, in its fight to guarantee that peasant families have enough food for the whole year. This has been done through “food storage barns,” which serve to improve the farmers’ ability to sell their products (price negotiation and distribution), and which allow access to credit from micro-credit unions.

The 200 farming families that make up the FDC, in Chihuahua in northern Mexico, live and work in difficult conditions, due to the arid climate. The region’s irrigation systems remain solely for the use of large growers. © FDH

Working together within the Frente Democratico Campesino, the families of the small-time farmers were able to build an effective system to facilitate the distribution of their collective output, access to credit, and the availability of a year-round food supply. © FDH
