The project supported by FDH has as its objective
to eradicate poverty in the summit zone in the Concepcion
and Tarma ranges of the Andes, in the Junin region.
We do this by encouraging consolidation and decentralization,
and developing the participation of regional governments
and civil society. In addition, specific actions will
be taken in order to improve crops, increase agricultural
productivity, and ensure market access.

| Participants in
this collective fight against poverty include 8 700
small producers, 300 directors of peasant organizations,
600 local officials, and the 268 048 residents of two
regions. Training programs, plans for collective development,
and tools for strengthening agricultural organizations
and for improving their production are all in the process
of being developed and put in place.
